I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Candace Smith (well, now Candace Ramos), one my childhood friends, last month, and it was great getting to be a part of the festivities. The day started off in Deer Park at Hair Palace where the ladies all got their hair done. After everyone was all styled up, myself and my other photographer started the trip up to Tomball.
The wedding was on the picturesque, 24-acre Oakland Farm and Ranch in Tomball, TX. We were able to do all the pre-wedding shooting in the comfort of the nicely air-conditioned 5 bedroom Ranch House while all the guests gathered outside around the waterfall and Koi pond where the outdoor ceremony was held. Instead of doing all the formal shots at the Koi pond (where the bride and groom stood for the ceremony) I decided to do them along the nice farm fence with the trees and open field as the backdrop. I think it really added to the rustic-country feel of the wedding and showcased the facilities nicely.
After the ceremony, Candace and Buddy rode over to the reception via horse and carriage (the same one Candace and her father arrived to the ceremony on). And I can honestly say it was the first wedding reception where almost every guest got up and joined in on the festivities, filling the entire dance floor. I’ve got to give props to the DJ for doing a great job on getting everyone involved. Here are some photos from the day…Congrats to Candace and Buddy Ramos!
